Last few years we had the event in the sea-kissing carter road amphitheater. We hope to hold it there this year too. This year the event is on Saturday 25 January 2014. (the day before republic day)

The Pride is an event where all sexualities march together claiming their right of an equal share of the sun above and earth below and spaces in between. The Pride and the event preceding it is an assertion of the fact that we exist, and we are not a number, we are but a formidable force that celebrates its existence.

Dirty Talk 6.0, Call For Entries

Dirty Talk 6.0 : January 31st, 2014 : Call For Entries
Q. What happens when you criminalize the gays?

A. You have rainbow prison outfits! How wonderful!

Ladies, Gentlemen, Criminals! Welcome back to the 6th edition of Dirty Talk! As you may have heard, the highest court of the land has just criminalized …umm…everyone. Yet, being the real troopers that we all are, when the law takes away our liberty and freedom, we come back with more humor, snark and fabulousness.

In 2014, we are bigger, badder, bolder but most importantly we have grit, drive and determination to be dirty the only we know how to – By being ourselves.

Its been a long while since back in the day during the first pride in 2009 where we last walked as proud and gay convicts with rainbow stripes. Now having gone back and totally not being okay with it, it’s time to stand in solidarity and have our voices resonate louder through the streets ( ok, microbreweries) of Mumbai.

Join us at Dirty Talk 6.0 on Friday, 31st January 2014 as we parade our haute new rainbow prison outfits.

From my humorous disposition, you can probably see that I am already practicing my stand up act for the evening (fingers crossed, I am not booed off the stage). But Gaysi wants you! If you are interesting in performing, no better time than now to be heard.

Send us an email with a copy of your act and become infamous. A little bit of ass kissing (puns intended) and bribery might even launch your career into overdrive (although MJ is a very hard person to please – gay lord do I know that!)

Few things to keep in mind:

1. Send us your entries at gaysifamily[at]gmail[dot].com

2. Only original Queer content

3. Please remember that your gloriousness will only be allowed a maximum of 5 minutes of performance time. We have limited time and multiple royal acts to accommodate.

4. You are not allowed to read out from a piece of paper, so start memorizing your pieces. Bonus points to those who can dramatize their piece.

5. We will be running rehearsals where the performers can practice their pieces and Miss Universe victory waves.

6. Last date for submitting entries is – 10th January, 2014

So come forward, and lets be fabulous!

Review of The Amazing Q Hunt by one of the podium finishers

“Barbie prince calls you to the Garden of Cypress”. That was the first clue of the Amazing Q Hunt organized by Shushil & team as part of pride festivities. The hunt was simply amazing. Out in the sun after a long time, we did crack interesting clues like first one. We ran, made cow dung cakes, discovered new localities, conversed with several unknown faces, had neem/karela juices, joy ride in sea, found interesting straws and glasses (oh chilled glasses, we almost lost the hunt 😦 ), photographed ourselves with missing horse, landmark art galleries, libraries. The best part was selling balloons to three different set of persons. My favourite was last couple to whom I explained pride festivities, expected pride march, meaning of lgbt & ‘Q’ in Q hunt while selling two balloons. Oh man I did it! first pride selling:). Then we were sent to ‘ashes of dreams’ to calculate our savings. Finally we reached last destination & were offered hot green chillies. Dear organizers, chillies were much better than dhoklas you
made us to eat in the morning :). Yep we had a rocking time. Q Adda plz dont
wait for pride festivities for this amazing hunt. At least you may think of making it a
quarterly feature. It was a memorable hunt, hunted lovely friends, bonded well with competitors. Sushil, Aryan, Nitin, Arjun, Ankit, mihir and team! Keep it up. We thoroughly enjoyed. Congrats to winners, but yeah next time clear the podium for us…. 🙂
Key takeaways 🙂
1.) Do not be farsighted 😦 look for things, places and of course love nearby.
2)When caught in a `No’ Zone, fake that you are from Dubai! No, not to police but ever willing businessmen/sellers or tell them how u may miss ur next flight 😦
3) When there is need to beat long queue, emote how ur love was left inside without mobile :).
4) And yeah start running, or you may have already lost….
